HOT NEWS! President Clinton Dines at Rosie McCann's Irish Pub & Restaurant at Santana Row

San Jose, CA – June 30, 2004 – Former President Clinton made a surprise stop for dinner late last night at Santana Row's newest dining attraction; Rosie McCann's Irish Pub & Restaurant. Alaleh Kianerci, the owner's daughter and a manager at the restaurant was approached by Mr. Clinton's Secret Service advance team at around 9:30pm to let her know that Mr. Clinton would be arriving at 10:30pm.

“He was really friendly”, said Ms Kianerci, “and joked with us about his Irish roots. He even pronounced our restaurants slogan perfectly, ‘Cead Mile Failte' or 100,000 welcomes, with a flawless Irish accent.”

Mr. Clinton's group ordered an array of hearty appetizers to share for a late night snack that included Rosie McCann's signature Irish Nachos, Hot Wings, Fried Calamari, Banger Sausages with Spicy Mustard, Garlic Fries and Chicken Quesadillas.

After finishing his meal Mr. Clinton chatted with the owners, Mina Shamsaei and Homayoun Kianerci, and took photos with them and the staff of Rosie MCann's.

“After being open for less than three weeks, it was such a surprise and an honor to host President Clinton and his group and actually get to meet him personally”, said Ms Kianerci.

During her marketing career she was trained in Deming quality management principals that a decade later she brought to the management of her own restaurant; the idea of empowering employees to create a sense of ownership, bringing the best out of each employee while investing their creative energy in the restaurant.
